Therme Group, a global leader in urban wellbeing destinations, has announced plans to develop its first U.S. location in Dallas.
After a year of engagement with community members, city officials, and elected leaders, the company has decided to move forward with its proposal to establish Therme Dallas in the Cedars neighborhood, near the Trinity River. If approved by the Dallas City Council, the large-scale development will integrate thermal baths, saunas, mineral pools, waterslides, swim-up bars, and dining options, creating a holistic wellness hub in the heart of the city.
A Hub for Wellbeing and Economic Growth
The project aims to offer an accessible and affordable wellness experience, catering to a diverse audience—whether for family-friendly activities, social gatherings, or solo relaxation. Therme Group CEO Robert Hanea highlighted the company’s expertise in creating Europe’s most-visited wellbeing destinations, saying Dallas is the ideal location for its U.S. debut.
“With our deep experience in designing world-class wellbeing spaces, we see Dallas as the perfect place to introduce this concept,” Hanea said. “Therme Dallas will not only enhance quality of life but also contribute to the city’s economic and social vitality.”
Situated near the Dallas Water Commons, the proposed high-speed rail station, and the reimagined Dallas Convention Center, the development aims to connect the city’s natural spaces with its downtown core while promoting sustainability and community engagement.
Therme Group U.S. CEO John Alschuler emphasized the strategic importance of the Dallas location, calling it a model for urban wellbeing that aligns with the city’s growth and innovation priorities.
“Dallas is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the U.S., making it the ideal city to introduce Therme’s first stateside destination,” Alschuler said.
Projected Economic Impact
Therme Dallas is expected to generate a significant economic boost, creating hundreds of jobs, partnering with local businesses and universities, and bringing new tax revenue to the city and county. The project is estimated to generate $1.8 billion in tax revenue over 30 years, including $1.1 billion in local taxes and $700 million in state revenues through the Project Finance Zone.
Dallas City Council Member Jesse Moreno welcomed the initiative, citing economic growth and community benefits.
“Dallas is a city of opportunity, and Therme Group’s investment reflects our city’s appeal to global businesses,” Moreno said. “Therme Dallas will enhance quality of life and strengthen our local economy.”
A Vision for Urban Wellbeing
Therme Group has welcomed over 40 million guests across its European locations and continues to invest in scientific research and technological advancements in wellness.
Robert Hammond, President of Therme Group U.S. and co-founder of New York’s High Line, said the Dallas site would redefine urban spaces by integrating nature, water, and community-focused amenities.
“People crave an environment that combines parks, spas, pools, and social spaces into a single experience,” Hammond said. “Therme Dallas will be a transformative destination for the city.”
Pending approval, the development will position Dallas as a pioneer in urban wellness experiences, bringing a new model for wellbeing to the U.S. market.
