The Middle East & North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony took place in Abu Dhabi this evening, honouring the region’s top culinary talents. Held in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT) and sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, the event celebrated gastronomic excellence, with Orfali Bros Bistro in Dubai crowned as the region’s best restaurant for the third consecutive year.
Founded in 2021 by Syrian brothers Mohammad, Wassim, and Omar Orfali, the bistro fuses Aleppian heritage with the cosmopolitan flair of Dubai’s dining scene. The restaurant’s consistent acclaim is reflected in its global recognition, having ranked No.46 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 list.
William Drew, Director of Content for MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants, praised the brothers’ dedication and innovation. “We are delighted to recognise Orfali Bros Bistro as the No.1 restaurant in the MENA region for the third year running. Their talent and passion have earned them a loyal following both locally and internationally,” Drew remarked.
Culinary Leaders Across the Region
The awards also showcased the region’s diverse culinary landscape, with 50 restaurants from 11 cities making the list. Trèsind Studio in Dubai retained the No.2 position, cementing its reputation for modern Indian fine dining. Meanwhile, Kinoya, also in Dubai, secured the No.3 spot.
Cairo’s Khufu’s took fourth place and was named The Best Restaurant in Egypt, highlighting the growing prominence of Egyptian cuisine on the international stage.
The event reflects the vibrant culinary culture of the Middle East and North Africa, with restaurants spanning various cuisines and approaches. From fine dining establishments to more casual yet innovative venues, the region’s culinary scene continues to draw global attention.
