A new Irish dance production, Celtic Throne – Psalter of Ireland, featuring music by Golden Globe-nominated composer Brian Byrne, is set to tour the UK this summer.
The highly anticipated show will debut at Birmingham Symphony Hall on 22 June, before travelling to Manchester Bridgewater Hall (24 June), Liverpool M&S Bank Auditorium (26 June), Leeds first direct arena (29 June), Derby Becketwell Live (1 July) and concluding at London’s Eventim Apollo on 3 July.
Tickets are now on sale, with prices starting from £39, and discounted family and group rates available.
An Epic Tale of Irish History
Celtic Throne – Psalter of Ireland presents a sweeping story inspired by Irish annals, chronicling the legend of Ollav Fola, an ancient sage and lawmaker who brought the legacy of one of the world’s greatest kings to Ireland.
Brad Macdonald, the show’s director, described it as a one-of-a-kind production that blends multiple art forms into a single experience.
“Imagine taking a classic Irish dance show like Riverdance, mixing it with a West End musical and a Hollywood film. You won’t find better value for your money—it’s three experiences in one,” he said.
Innovative Choreography and Spectacular Visuals
The show combines traditional Irish dance with acrobatics, martial arts, dynamic choreography, special effects, and cinematic video storytelling. The music, composed by Brian Byrne (Heartbeat of Home), adds a cinematic depth to the performance, merging film-score-style sounds with the rhythms and melodies of traditional Irish music.
The cast features more than 30 Irish dancers, ranging in age from 24 to just 5 years old.
“Our older dancers are phenomenally talented,” said Macdonald, “but the kids always get the biggest applause. Audiences have never seen children in an Irish dance show, and it melts their hearts.”
Lead dancer Jude Flurry, who also serves as the show’s choreographer, revealed that performers trained with a U.S. Olympic Taekwondo coach for the martial arts sequences.
“We are pushing the boundaries of traditional Irish dance shows, blending rock-solid fundamentals with innovations that add a theatrical flair to match Brian Byrne’s score,” he said.
