- RGBW technology breathes life into the tower’s iconic façade
- Launch to coincide with Eid Al Etihad celebrations
Emaar Properties has announced a remarkable new lighting system for the Burj Khalifa. Using advanced RGBW technology, the lighting upgrade redefines the iconic tower’s exterior with vibrant colours and dynamic effects. The new system will debut during the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations on 1 December 2024, ahead of the tower’s 15th anniversary on 4 January 2025.
The upgraded lighting transforms the guest experience by creating visually stunning displays, reaffirming Dubai’s global reputation for cutting-edge innovation and design excellence.
After six months of rigorous testing, the RGBW system replaces static lights with dynamic, colour-changing fixtures. These addressable lights allow for intricate lighting patterns tailored to both everyday illuminations and special celebrations. This new system integrates seamlessly with Burj Khalifa’s media screen, maintaining its sleek and elegant appearance.
Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director of Emaar Properties, said: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”
This project sets a global benchmark for blending technology and artistry in architectural lighting, inspiring future innovations worldwide.
